Thread: Cloggy's tuning in

Hi all,

i will be spending 4 weeks in NZ from half november 2018 to half december 2018 and interested in the NZ shooting scene.

I am an avid target shooter in Hunter Field Target, which uses airguns (mainly pre-charged pneumatics) with scopes out to 42m, and also 100m airgun competition. I have some experience hunting small game with airguns. So i know about shooting technique, scopes, mildots, trajectory, windage, ballistics, etc.. My fire arm experience though is limited. Lots of rules and regulations and no space in The Netherlands! Shot some 22lr carbines and .30 M1 Carbine at the range, but no experience in hunting with firearms.

I hope to discover some opportunities here for getting to know the NZ shooting and hunting scene during my stay.

If you are in the Bay of Plenty I will get you out shooting some centre fire at gongs etc

Gonetropo. Can't help the plane landing there. OK, i understand we have to be out of there as soon as possible.

Me and my wife will be visiting North and South Island. We haven't established a route yet. Probably will be doing some landmarks, but at least half of the time i want to be surprised by your beautifull country.

I was hoping maybe meeting some nice people, visiting a shooting club, joining a hunting trip or anything else shooting and meeting some people that share the same interest. I am not bringing any guns so shooting by me would have to be done with something rented or lended. As i said my experience is mainly PCP airguns and limited firearm shooting at the range. I'm shooting hunter field target quite proficiently though. Top 3 in The Netherlands and top 6 in the Worlds.

Open to experience! Any tips appreciated!

If you find yourself near Nelson, let me know, and I can get you shooting a few targets at mine, and possibly a goat or possum hunt.
Depending on your vehicle, you may be able to camp here too. Better than some noisy roadside layby

Thanx Pengy! To go to South Island we will need to take the ferry, so we'll be quite close. We'll be staying in B&B's/hotels that we're booking on the go. If it's OK with you i can let you know when we will be in the area. Probably last week of november. Your offer is much appreciated.

True, 4wds are only a fashion accessory up here while they're a necessity to cross central CHCH
