I shot many rounds out of a .22 training rifle up at the range behind Barnicoat and Fell House at Nelson Boys in my day .
Not many young people would believe you these days when you tell them you shot rifles at school, at the schools own range and the school provided ammo .
Also made a few SLR barrels glow hot during School Army Cadet training during my time at Nelson Boys .
