Hi to all. Hope you are all off to a good start in 2020.
I've just moved to Wairarapa this month. Have FA licence and bought a .22 cal air rifle for a laugh but have decided it's time to get some real guns. Can't decide between CZ 455, Ruger 10/22 and Marlin XT-22 for rabbits and possums.
Price is a factor, thus no Tikka or other more pricey guns. I reckon the Marlin should be OK value for money going by the reviews I've read? Looking to do some duck shooting a bit later too. Not sure about deer etc yet, but definitely want a shotgun for clay targets and duck hunts.
Used to be a city boy, have traded up that life for a house with my young family in the Wairarapa to grow some food, do some fishing and shooting, get back to basics and put some roots down.
I really really really am starting from basics, haven't done any hunting etc before, so hope to get together with some kind folks who know what they are doing and wouldn't mind having a rookie around.
I'm looking forward to what I'm going to learn from the forums.
Cheers
