    Finally joined….

Hi all, i have just registered on this site after many casual browsing on topics of interest. I am a keen outdoors person and a safety conscious person. Hope to share and learn stuff from you all. Looking at adding a 243 to my collection for hunting.

    welcome, now why a 243?
its a "varmint cartridge" and just a necked down 308. no offense but imho a 308 is superior as you can get all sorts of loads for it and just about all gunstores sell it.

    Welcome to the forum.
Just like Basil Faulty "don't mention the war" and by "war" of course, I mean calibre
Oh and nothing wrong with wanting a rifle in every calibre if that's ya thing

    Welcome.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Welcome, my uncle has shot more animals than anyone I personally know , all with a .243 . Before I got obsessed with 6.5, I shot Everything with a .22-hornet, pigs, reds, fallow, rabbits, hares, bulls, cows and even cockatoo's. I got constant shit from other Hunters, but I stalked every animal. A .243 is a cannon in comparison, get an accurate one and you wont look back. FWIW, I never lost ONE animal, and only one (a billy) required a second shot
