Currently living/working in Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory( have lived in the NT for nearly 30 years) so Buffalo, pigs, brumbies, magpie geese, ducks etc. Have hunted nearly everything the OZ has to offered (as well as running my own aerial feral animal control business here for approx 15 odd years) but only Sambar deer in the deer species and while we do have Sambar, Rusa and chital in very limited numbers and extremely remote locations up here in the NT,l realistically have to travel approx 4000 klms for Sambar in the southern states etc l have now got the deer bug and will hopefully be travelling to NZ regularly from next year on to hunt/fish all you have to offer from rabbits and ducks to deer and thar chamies etc as well as a bit of diving and fishing .l am not really concerned with getting the biggest trophy more with enjoying the hunt and the good times around a fire after a enjoyable day in the bush whether a animal is taken or not . l have worked with enough Kiwis over the years that have told me that if l came over there l would never go back so l figured it was about time l check it out

Bunji if you go hunting in VC's neck of the woods then you will definitely never go back. Slice of paradise right on his doorstep.

I'm envious of your buff and other big game but us southerners are lucky to get all the deer!

Got some pics of your buff and others?

Haven't really got anything set in concrete as yet VC ,was going to treat the first trip as a suss out of the place with hunting thrown in and then use that too base my future trips and of course check out the fantastic country you have to offer . Like l say l am not really concerned with shooting huge trophy animals although obviously l am not going to pass up a 12 pointer in the bush more into enjoying the hunt itself and treat any deer etc on the deck if l am lucky enough as a bonus ( Will try to post up some pics when l get closer to civilization with a reliable connection ) Thanks for the welcome fulla's
