    Gday fellas

    Hey team

New here. I mostly joined to look at information around trap shooting. Currently, I'm looking to purchase my first budget friendly, trap shotgun but I've been inundated with mostly american advice. Everyone on reddit is recommending beretta or browning which seem to be way out my my price range without the wifey throwing a wobbly lol.

Considered going turkish as they are more wallet friendly, but online are saying potentially unreliable and to just spend more. Looking around the 1-1.5k range.

Entered a social clay comp with a few friends and had a blast so keen to get into it.

I'm a volly firefighter (hence the name) and I couldn't think of anything more interesting to use

Is there any kiwi/aussue youtubers you follow that offer good advice?

Also, first gun recommendations? Second hand or brand new?

    Cheers

    Welcome

I picked up a Baikal Over/Under 12G secondhand for 400 bucks a couple of years back and they'd prob be cheaper now

Simple and it works but everyone wants semis these days

I'd go secondhand for best deal at the moment

The obvious advice is to try as many of ya mates guns as you can and try to get something similar

Also, do you prefer pump, break open or semi?

I've refreshed the page twice by accident now after writing out my reply so I'll keep it short haha

    Thanks for the info 308.

looking for a 12g under over mainly for trap
nice to have features would be
    adjustable comb
    selectable firing barrel

    Must haves
No auto safety when closing the barrel
changable chokes (try my luck at ducks next season or other shooting types skeet etc)

I've narrowed my search down to a couple Miroku's on TM but considering going to a cheaper gun and focusing on getting more shots down the range to give me a better idea of what i want.
I find it harder to buy online as you can't test fit or test fire it. Currently, I only have around 500 clays under my belt and averaging 18 /25 so much to learn.

Welcome aboard. Find yourself a cheap sporting U/O and make the only other selection criteria be that it fits you well. You will learn to use it quick enough on clays and it will meet your requirements for water fowl and upland fowl.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
