I had a Shultz and Larsen 270 for a while in the early 1960's.
Lovely rifle except when I ejected a shell case, it would sometimes strike the scope body and flick back in to the receiver to get jammed by the next round.
Maybe that rifle is still around somewhere - unique in that the whole of one side was beautifully carved by a talented maori artist I never knew.
After that I got a Belgian FN Supreme 270 and used it for many decades - another nice rifle.
Now that I'm 84, I use a Howa 308, but I have a problem with it putting weight on every time I go into the bush with it
I'm lucky enough to have access to a private block in the Akatarawas with nice flat old logging tracks I can walk along without falling over 2 often, and can take the sack barrow up to carry meat out. I don't get too excited about heads, but some I've seen in there have heavy timber like the mother-in-law's ankles, I kid you not.
It's good to chat with a meat hunter mate. I could never take a head and waste meat, and anyway, I already have too much trestosterone for my own good.
As they say, The blinder we get, the more we can see.
Like you, this is my first real post on here.
I'm not even sure this will work because I don't see anywhere a button that says SEND - bit strange.
Keep the powder dry.
