The awesome guys putting my rifle together just sent me this!

Nice choice. Rifle looks really good. I've just purchased a rifle very similar. Mine is RH bolt, bolt fluting and DPT instead of hardy and vx3.
I went back and forth on the scope for a week but went with the VX2 4-12X40 AO LR in the end. Looking forward to getting to a range when I get it!
The bolts on the right side to:D
A couple of newbie questions.
I'm interested in the best practise for breaking in a new rifle, from what I read it is a matter of putting rounds through it and cleaning in between them.
I would also like to learn the best way to clean and maintain my new rifle (Tikka T3x 308) - I was sent this kit when I purchased it - http://www.gunslick.com/products/cle...aningkits.aspx
Thanks in advance for the advice.

That kit is okay, but I would get some Hoppes or Boretech for getting carbon and copper out.
Or foaming cleaner if you don't like scrubbing away.
Plus I would recommend a one piece cleaning rod.
Dont be too worked up with the breaking a new barrel in.
Some people scrub it clean after each shot as part of their break-in routine, but a decent quality barrel, which a Tikka is, wont have rough machining marks.
So just flush any oil out before you fire it the first time with brake-cleaner of meths and give the barrel a good clean after a box of ammo has been fired and at the end of the day.
I leave a light coat of Hoppes inside the barrel for storing away.
