Get a 308/270/3006 or probably a 223 if people on this forum are to be believed

You can get a secondhand one cheaper and better than new in most cases but start by searching the forum for things like "what rifle should I buy" and whatnot and you'll find this question has been asked and answered quite a bit over the years
Second hang out with shooters and try different calibres to see what you like - plenty of clubs down your way, reloaders, etc
thirdly presumably you are a RATM fan?
