    Hello from across the pond

Hey folks, Carl here from the US. I live in the wonderful state of Wyoming. Been there my whole life, going on 40 years. I had the great privilege and pleasure of visiting your country last November, the south island specifically. We didn't do any hunting, but did get a day in of ocean fishing out of Kaikoura. Great fun and tastey fish. I would love to return someday to chase tahr, and whatever else I could find. Here in Wyoming I do a lot of big game hunting, mostly for mule deer, elk and pronghorn. All DIY, mostly public land. I'm hoping to learn whatever I can about hunting in NZ, even if I never make it back there. I'll also share what I know about hunting in the states, if anyone is curious.

It’s great to have you here, thanks for the introduction.

Settle into your favourite chair with a cold one and enjoy the place

Gidday Carl. Welcome. Do come back and hunt, our mountains and game should be shared with as many folk as possible who are prepared to hunt "according to our customs". (As opposed to behind wire safari and flying shooting)

    Welcome.
I have been talking to a compatriot of yours who has recently moved to NZ. He has explained the hunting systems/procedures in the States and it has made me realise how lucky we are here in terms of access and affordability. I hope you make it back to our shores sometime soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Here are a few critters I've killed over the years. Mostly a meat hunter but do occasionally get lucky.
