    Hello all!

    Hello all,

Just registered. Recently arrived from Scotland with my wife to start a new chapter of my life. Thought i would sign up here for hopefully some tips on getting started in the hunting scene in fair NZ.

Been dairying since arriving, up in the Naki which has been an absolute blast, been spending my free time clearing the farm of some pesky rabbits and a couple of possums so far. Currently have only an air rifle as i dont have my FAL yet but will be hoping to get that at some point but see no point in rushing at the moment until im sure thats the road i want to head down.

Obviously with summer fast approaching its gonna be the time for getting out there so here i am in the hopes of making a few buda that can keep me pointed in the right direction!

    Welcome.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Welcome. the more practice you get with the air rifle (assuming you are learning good habits) the better your shooting will be when you get bigger stuff to play with.

Couldnt agree more @ max headroom! Currently using a Stoeger RX20 S3 with .22 slugs. Would also be keen to hear from others if they have fired the rx20 themselves. Had a few gripes with it so far with the scope. But the ironsights work a treat and it does, for an airgun at least hit like a mule.
