    Hello All, new guy here

Hey everyone! I'm not so good at introducing myself, but I'll give it a shot...

I live in South Auckland, collecting firearms (mostly WWII-era bolt action, started from a Mauser that I got for reenactment and grew from there, I then caught the 'gun collecting bug' if such a thing exists), and occasionally I go target shooting when I have time although I keep thinking about going hunting but I never get round to it, most of my collection is just the usual stuff (i.e Mosin, Mauser etc etc) plus a curio or so. I don't think it would do me an honor to go on about my firearms collection so I'll just leave that there, either way, I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

    Thanks!

Hey there! I usually go to the ASRA shoots that they have although occasionally I get invited to them elsewhere, how about yourself Steve?
Yep Dogmatix I prefer the Mauser by a long shot! Although I feel that if I sell the Mosin I will eventually wish I didn't, I think we all have that feeling .
    Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Welcome to the forum. Yes there is a gun collecting bug and it is very catchy.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Hi, good to see another service shooter.
There does seem the be a collecting bug- it's very persistent and nothing I have seen people try has ever shaken it, divorce, kids, mortgages, broken cars etc just seem to temporally hold it at bay but as soon as it can it springs back. I'm going to stick to embracing it as the least painful and most enjoyable way of dealing with it
