Thread: Hello, new and wanting to give hunting in Stewart Island a go

A newbie here who is doing some research into a trip to the Stewart Island and hoping for some advice from those who have been already. We (me in my 40s and dad in his mid 70s) are in Auckland and normally hunt in the central North Island but want to try something new next year. Has anyone been to Little Hellfire and if so what's it like to hunt in May and what is the best/most affordable way to get there. A direct flight on a chopper or small plane from Invercargill/Bluff or a ferry to Stewart Island and then a flight to the block?
Any advice/suggestions much appreciated.
