    Hello NZHS Forum

Long time reader of some valuable posts on here when googling for reloading and hunting info. Finally joined up a few weeks ago after chatting to my mate Monsoon Moon after he sold a few excess items through here. He had really good responses to most things he had posted up for sale. I have a few excess items from 3 decades of reloading that I will be looking to get rid of in the next wee while. I'm a very keen hunter, fisher (sea & trout) & diver and now that I have dialled back the Multisport training I have a lot more spare time to enjoy those pursuits.

I also enjoy tinkering around with reloading and get a real sense of satisfaction out of finding a combo that delivers both on paper and in the hills. I will be posting a few questions around 6.5 cal hunting projectiles for medium/largish game (Reds, Fallow & Chamios) as have been developing a load for my newly acquired 6.5 Creedmore Bagara B14 Sporter (18 inch). Had got it shooting very well with 130gr Nosler Accubonds and Reloader 16 powder doing 2800fps but turned out the load was too hot (loose primer pockets). Have always liked the accubonds (110 grainers shoot exceptionally well in my .25-06) but looking back now they were probably not the best choice for the slower 6.5CM velocities. Long story short am now looking at trying the Hornady 140gr ELD-M projectiles at slower speeds (2600fps) as a mate has been using them for years out of his 6.5 x 55 very successfully on red deer and Tahr. They just seem to kill really well at those slower velocities.

Anyway that's probably a lot more info than is usually put up on an introductions post but look forward to being a more active member on here from now on.

    Cheers
