    There's not really public land to hunt on in the UK, unless you consider the vast swathes of Forestry commission land. The public can bid on forestry commission contracts but it's not cheap and works out on average £100 per deer and DSC level 2, first aid, quad bike certificates etc all required - with all the hassle involved this is more like a job than a hobby.

    I get my little bit of stalking free from local landowners that are happy for deer numbers to be kept in check. Lots of people pay for stalking also.
