The projectile initially rises in its trajectory from the barrel and then falls in its trajectory as the force of gravity takes effect across distance travelled. Therefore there are two points (one on the rise and one on the fall) where the projectile is at the same level.
Thanks, that's very well explained. I knew about the fall, but not the rise!
