    Hi

Hi team. Bit of a long time listener first time caller here. I've just renewed my FAL after a 20+ year hiatus and looking forward to hopefully putting some venison in the freezer and getting my son out into the bush.

I've found the forums here to be great sources of information (and some quality BS) while researching potential locations and kit (some things have changed a lot in 20y, other things not so much) so figured time has come to get official and sign up.

Rifle - Tikka T3 Alpine in 6.5mm CRD, which I'm picking up Friday, so my next job is sorting a scope and, naturally, working out how to hide that cost from the wife. Have a couple of options I'm weighing up, might put a separate thread up on that for some opinions.

Auckland based, but don't hold that against me too much I'm Naki born & bred. Like my fishing, hunting, family and beer (yes craft beer, been in AKL too long)

    Dave

Welcome aboard Dave but I gotta tell you that you lost me at craft beer. Can’t stand the bloody Nancy boy stuff.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    It's the perfect accompaniment to a T3 in 6.5CM

Just winding you up Dave - love a craft beer as well, and I'm just jealous!

Welcome Dave you could just call yourself from the Naki.
Excellent choice of caliber and rifle just get a scope to make use of the rifles capabilities.

That should have been Just Another Dave-Moore. Missed opportunity, hope you have more luck with hitting the mark on the deer. Welcome.
