    Hi

Long time listener, first time caller. Born and raised in Wellington, and then a dozen years in Christchurch and Dunedin, but have been living in Japan for the last 14 years. In NZ I mainly did small bore rifle club shooting and rabbiting. In Japan, apart from collecting airsoft, I've joined in on some deer hunts, and I'm currently doing my shotgun firearm's license. Almost all hunting in Japan has to be done with either a PCP air rifle, or a single or double barrelled shotgun with rifled slugs. The current deer population is at 350% overshoot of carrying capacity because most amateur hunters are too old, and not enough younger people are taking up the sport (The deer and boar are native, but the native apex predators for them were the Asian wolf; but they made that extinct a few hundred years back. So, now only hunting controls the numbers). Have been browsing these forums for a year before joining to pick up tips.

    Welcome along.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
