    Hi all

First off im glad I came across this forum while doing some research into my purchasing my first AR and im blown away at how freely everyone shares information and knowledge on without turning it into some mad debate. I had always got the feeling (dont know from where) that hunters/shooter were a secretive bunch but you have proved me wrong.

Based in New Plymouth and a city boy for life but have been into hunting for almost 2 years now after I went on a goat shoot with a mate and came back with a love of being outdoors.

I bought my first rifle in 7mm-08 (i have since read members thoughts on this) then a 10/22 and more recently an AR .

Slowly building up my experience to the point where I am starting to introduce my son to it (5yo) as I want him to experiance NZ in a way I took far too long to do myself.

Thats probably enough for now but I look forward to contributing where I can but more likely just pick the brains of the number of genuine good blokes around here.

    Cheers

Welcome pineapple. Jump right in the water is fine here.

What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
