    Hi all

Over the last couple of years I have read a lot of the threads on this forum but have only just registered.

I am starting to find a bit more time to get out into the bush/mountains and I'm really keen to get into hunting, especially deer, hence why I'm here, to learn the ropes!
I moved to NZ about 5 years ago and currently live in Auckland (planning to move further South in the next few years). Previously I lived in Scotland and done quite a bit of pest control with shotguns and PCP air rifles, mostly rabbits, pigeon, pheasant etc and managed 1 Roe deer in that time.

I have a number of firearms, my mainstay is a Tikka T3x Superlight in .308 with a Nightforce 4-14 SHV and DPT suppressor.

So that's me in a nutshell, expect lots of questions from me over the coming weeks/months/years...

    Cheers,

    Mark.

    Welcome.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Welcome Mark
I assume from the other thread you are currently posted at Whenuapai?
