    Hi all

Hi everyone. Been a long time reader and have enjoyed it muchly .
Currently based in northland but try to get a few hunts in each year with friends and family. Still lots to learn so probably still more reading than contributing to the forum at this stage but will jump in where I can.

Welcome Buzz, glad to have another northlander here. Only problem up here is the long drive for deer, but the fishing and lion red more tgan makes up for it. I often look on odd threads and have a good time realizing how little I know.

    Thanks Lars

Oh how little you know about the elixir of life. Compared to the nectar of the gods Waikato, Lion Red is a training beer for the young and confused. Oh and welcome Buzz.

Hey thanks for the welcome. Yeap living in Northland is a challenge for deer hunting but getting out for a surf or a dive two to three times a week makes the place a pleasure to live in. It would be nice not to have to drive far for a good hunt . I did hear rumours of deer in Russell forest, but having been in there a few times chasing pigs I think it was probably just that… rumours.

    Hey there
Mums side of the family are all northlanders, beautiful place.
We often shoot deer on the beaches down here, when on our way for a dive Waters a bit colder down these parts, current temps about 9 degrees!

I’m using a 7mm08 . It does everything I need right now. With the ammo shortage I was surprised to see H&f in kerikeri has a stack of PPU in stock. I was even more surprised to see they’re priced at $79.99 I think that’s twice the price of the last box of ppu I bought.
