    Hi all

    Hi all,

    Just thought I'd introduce myself as my firearms license will be arriving in the post in a couple weeks.

    I'm Taranaki based and mostly enjoy ocean based activities - fishing, surfing, kayakfishing etc.

    Have always enjoyed looking up at the maunga and the surrounding hills from the sea but rarely got into the bush until this year when went out tagging along with a couple mates who are into hunting - blown away at what I've been missing out on!

    Anyway just thought I'd say after a brief skim through some of the forums I'm already grateful for the useful info and advice on here.

    Looking forward to getting into it and learning as I go, be happy to hear from anyone who has any tips for a newbie, cheers!

    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
