Hi to all from the Scottish Highlands

    Hi all,

Been directed here by a guy from NZ who joined the UK forum 'Stalking Directory'.

Long story short, I'm a jack of all trades, master of absolutely none.

Like to listen and learn, travelled extensively and above all want to get out of the UK.

Working in the Scottish Highlands at the moment. Done some deer work, some on a private estate, some government.

Unfortunately the situation here is not looking great, government and politics are FUBAR. For a young(-ish) bloke who just likes the country, shooting and hunting you basically can't tell anyone what you like to do and why.

Crazy sign of the times that vegans and enviroMENTALists want us to apologise, we do more for wildlife and conservation than any other group put together!

Want to move to NZ for work, may have a farm job lined up but need to get details sorted out. I'm hard working and straight talking and that seems to be the exact opposite of what you need to get work in the UK.

Studied philosophy&politics at Uni in Scotland (another life haha!),then had the stupid idea of wanting to join the army as an officer but thank god they turned me back at the last hurdle (a combination of being too honest & working class I think!). Got a start at a private estate doing deer work and kept going since.

Have a few questions to ask further down the line.

    Cheers!

Welcome @caberslash, nice intro. As mentioned we are heading down the shit path similar to your homeland, but don't let that deter you from heading over here. You might get work for an agricultural contractor or the likes, I know of a couple of companies that employ Irish & Scots in Canterbury.
    All the best

Take no notice of the negative comments about where we are heading. NZ is still a paradise and you should get here and enjoy it.

Sure there's change and environmentalists but nothing like you experience in the UK, and here its a little bit cyclical depending on the Gov of the day. If we get rid of this lot we have at the moment things might improve or swing back a little. Eventually there will be a kick back against nanny state.

welcome caberslash, if you are willing to work you should have no problem getting a farm job. www.nzfarmsource.co.nz is a good place to start and a lot of tit pulling jobs start june 1st. NZ has problems but is still a great place to live and play. Left the uk 24 years ago never been back

@caberslash. Good to hear from you. The experiences you have knowledge of in UK will be useful in giving us warning of what nonsence is likely to come our way and how we might snuff it out. NZ is still a great place provided we can keep it out of the hands of the globalists, banksters, commie cum socialists and extreme greens.we do need more strong advocates here on our side.

    Hi and welcome

We left UK, Scotland in 2008 for the very same reasons.

NZ south island is an outdoor persons paradise only downside is the comrade globalist cindy and her C of L coalition of losers but hopefully this travesty of a progressive socialist government will go the way of labour uk where i believe comrade globalist cindy worked for brown and b liar they did well did they not!!!!!!

I still watch the news on the UK Field Sports Channel and see what you guys are still up against.

I moved to NZ from the UK almost 10 years ago. Much better than that cesspool we call blighty. Be warned those as @gonetropo said, NZ has also succumbed to the far left over-WOKE plague that seems to be affecting the Western world. Most people here are great though. Just watch out for the young-us that need safe spaces and shit. You won't look back if you love from the UK to NZ.

Don't come to Northland if hunting is your thing! Fishing is fantastic though.
