Hi DE HO From Wellys.

HI to all. Bit of an Intro from me.
Got introduced to this Forum by Dundee, (EVERY ONE SCREAMS AND RUNS) :D :D
I hale from the OTHER forum. (It seems most on here know the place),,,,In-fact I was one of the first members on there and have seen it gradually decline over the years. BUGGAR........ :(
Seems to me this one is how the other used to be- Helpful, Informative, and a heap of fun.

SO,,, I hail from all over this great country, At this present time I lay my head in Wellington, Moved here a year ago from Palmy North. Havn't fired a shot in all the time I have been here, Looking for work and sorting our alternative abode.....
WE,, Me and my lovley partner, (((wife to be))), reside on a Boat, and we love it.

I have a good knowledge of hunting and guns. Am learning that woman catch more fish than us guys ever will..:yaeh am not durnk: Am pretty handy with tools and love to get among a good bunch and talk a pile of nothing about nothing.

SO that's me. Here to help if I can,,, Steel knowledge off others when it is offered. Get to know a few of you and take it as it comes...

Thanks Guys, Dougie I have been here before. Many years ago. Wasn't born here and Lived every where, ALMOST, But I still call myself and Wellingtoneion....LOL... Yes dundee I signed up for a look about back in march and it has taken me this long to get my preferable A into G.

To be honest I think I'm too shit to go after deer! I'd like to get something by myself. Not sure if I could manage been sneaky enough to get a deer in the first place just yet, and it'd be a long afternoon getting it back to the wagon. Also I have no garage to hang the thing up in to peel it....

Dougie don't make me come down there and put you over my knee. One thing is for certain and that is if you think you will be shit then you will be so banish that thought from your head right now and don't let it back in. If you had a long walk in front of you then bone the bugger out where it dropped and stick the meat in your daypack. Also you don't need a garage to hang a deer in. If you can't find a useful tree then there have been many skinned on the ground before today (the skin makes a great clean mat for boning on). Once you have your FAL and a rifle that is up to the job then get out and give it a go. By all means smack over a few goats first but give it a go. You don't have to be successful first up. In fact the more sweat equity you put in the bigger the buzz will be.

Shucks Rushy. Maybe I need to get my nose into some books. I was always a very good scout but humans are easier to creep up on that deer with crazy noses and satalite dish ears. I know not much other than don't slam the car door! (Thanks Cam :) )

I emailed a gang at Hunting and Fishing Trophy NZ or something like that to see what they are like cost wise and even if it's availble to do a game butchery type course.

EDIT * Also I remember a favorite Secco always saying "If you look good, you feel good; if you feel good, you are good."

SAS 1 Ranger Squadron. Those guys have amazing skills that would be useful for your stalking. They move so slowly and are are so quiet they can sneak up on a sentry position at night and take the barrel off a GPMG without the average grunt knowing they were there until day break next morning. Saw that happen once on an exercise in Malaya in 74. It was as funny as fuck watching the guys in the hole trying to explain what happened to the barrel of their gun.

Will I guess I beta answer the question put to me. :).
NO I have never hunted the Rimatakas,,,,Wouldn't know where to start. How ever Dougie, I take it you do not have a FAL at the mo. Get that And I will take you for a overnight walk in the Tararuas. Give you some pointers if I can. Learn some from you. And have an exhausting weekend, see what we can see and have a crack if the opportunity arises.
By the way,,,I never had anyone show me how to hunt. Just got out there and did it,(walked around aimlessly), Learned from my mistakes and although I have not shot alot of deer, Every trip I seem to be able to spook at least 2.
