    Hi folks

I'm an expat Kiwi, living in the UK, but I've been planning to move back to NZ for some time.

I shoot Civilian Service Rifle (CSR) regularly in the UK, with a straight pull AR platform rifle, which looks like I won't be able to bring back with me.

Trying to figure out what the licence and import process is for returning NZers, but the Police in NZ seem to be totally hopeless when it comes to responding to emails or messages. More hopeless than firearms departments in the UK and that's a pretty special achievement.

Hopefully I will see some of you on the ranges once I finally make it back (talk about pick the wrong time to try to move countries).

    Cheers!

    Welcome.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Hi there! Yes they are worse than useless. In my experience the arms officers are generally good sorts, try to give one a call.

Welcome. Some advice - I googled the firearms officer in the area I planned to move to when I immigrated here. Send them an email and got a reply strait away.(within 5 minutes).
