    Welcome Attila.

Many years ago, when my legs were a lot younger along with the rest of me, a mate and I walked from Moeawatea over to above the site of the then being contructed dam and back again. All day effort. Took me days to recover.

That is a good walk!! My farms are located at the middle of the dam opposite the Hawera water-ski club but I know the dam end very well. That must have been close to 40 years ago. Have you been back for a look?

Welcome. Hunted throughout that area when I was a kid and back doing a bit there again now.... I loaned this book out about 25-years ago and it was never returned until about 3-months ago. It's mostly pig hunting from the 1930's onwards in the Hawera and Eltham back country. Amazing read and was great to be familiar with the entire area he wrote about; Tangahoe Valley etc. I was lucky and got a signed copy. Even luckier to get it back after all these years!
