    Hi from Sydney

    Hi guys,

Another Aussie jumping onto this forum, I'm new to shooting; only started last year. Visited NZ last year for the first time and couldn't get over what a beautiful country you guys have. Can't wait to organise another trip and maybe do some shooting across the ditch.

Love the gun porn thread, and I get green with envy seeing some of the semi-auto hardware you guys get to play with.

    Cheers,
    foureyes.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Not sure if this is the right place in the forum for this question but I'd thought I'd ask anyway. I was thinking of applying for a NZ visitors firearms licence for my next trip over, and I wanted to find out how to organise firearm safe storage as part of the requirements for the licence. I remember applying via the NZ Police website and it said I needed the details and address of an already licenced person.

Welcome foureyes. Bloody good to have another Ocker here.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

What city are you flying in to and what area will you be hunting? Those are probably going to determine where your storage arrangements need to be and hopefully you'll find a forum member in those areas willing to help you out. If you're basing yourself in Auckland, I might be able to help.
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Haven't got the finer details in order just yet. I was thinking that maybe the local shooting ranges and gun stores would offer some form of storage. I'm really appreciating the help guys.
