    Hi from Taranaki

    Hi all,

Been snooping around for a bit now after getting back into the hills after a long lay off. Thought I should sign up. Other distractions in life had taken over for quite a few years now but glad I held onto my gear. It's been great getting back out there. A couple of trips last summer went pretty well. First trip was a shocker after forgetting so much about going back country. Saw one deer way off. Glad I never got a chance at it as I'd loaded my pack with so much useless 5hit that I'd have been lucky to haul just back steaks out. Second trip back into the same area and went much better with a nice fat spiker to come home with me and plenty of room in the pack this time.
Got a couple weekend passes coming up so looking forward to a bit of quiet time. Hoping the rugby might be keeping a few at home over the next couple of weekends. Am I too hopeful?

Anyway, hopefully will have something to write up about in the next wee while.

    Cheers all.

    Welcome Ned.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

There are some nice hills off the Uruti road. Why they ever broke in the land amazes me. Spotted a few animals with the Swaro.
