Thread: Hi from Wellington

Hi everyone. I've been shooting supervised for years but just got my FAL so that I can get into hunting.

Anyone know where I would want to hunt deer or pigs near Kapiti? (I mean area, you don't need to give me your perfect spot). What sort of gun should I look at, is it mostly bush hunting around here?

The only guy I know that hunts said to get a 308, and he certainly brings deer home. My brother has a 7mm-08 but he's one of those guys that likes the gear but never gets around to going out

Should I get camo?

I'm pretty experienced with tramping although its been a couple of years since I did an overnight.
