Thread: Howdy.

Howdy gang,

I've 'recently' returned to A-NZ after 15 odd years overseas - Dubai and UK. After a bit of a hasty exit from Greece/UK in March 2020, I dotted down here on 23rd of March - 2 days before the shit hit the fan here. Sadly, all my kit is still sitting in a garage in London, so am currently (slowly) setting myself up again. Most important item on the list currently, is that elusive FAL... mine lapsed while overseas, so re-applied in November 2020, and still waiting for interviews after 11 months :/ Got a Howa .223 lined up as soon as FAL arrives.

Grew up on a farm in Mid-Canty, now based in Wellington. Looking to hit Remutakas/Tararuas chasing bambi's, and the Marlb Sounds attempting to keep the goat/possum population in check... as soon as I'm allowed.

It's been a VERY long time since I've hit the public land, rifle in hand. 100% of my outings in my younger days were simply 'armed tramps'... which was bearable given it was just good to get out in this beautiful country we are blessed to live in.

Been loving all the advice/reckons/wisdom on here, been super helpful... even if simply to justify an unnecessary purchase, so thanks to all those who put in what seems like many hours sharing their experience and wisdom. Hope to be able to add some of my own one day soon.

Kia ora Paremata, apologies for the slow response. I'm in the deep, dark, depths of Miramar, but have been looking for an NZDA gang to join when I finally get my FAL (only been 13 months now...) and subsequently, a shooting stick. Wellington Branch is closer, but I'm open to persuasion... good things are rarely discovered through little effort, eh.
