Hey fellas, stumbled on this fantastic site while looking at some NZ hunting online. The names Marc, I'm from Cork, Ireland. I spent 9 months in your amazing country in 2011 living in chch until the feb 22 quake hit when we moved to the beautiful Fox Glacier, loved every minute of the country.

Hey Marc, welcome. I have been to your home town.
Was humbled by the remains of a castle/fort that was a coastal barrier to invaders from 9-1300AD? Maybe older? It was also handy to a wee pub iirc.
Travelled down from Dublin thru Wicklow. Driving thru some parts, i was amazed how they were very similar to my West Coast. I mentioned to my girlfriend at the time that we would see a deer soon.
Come round a corner and there were these to blokes with a red hilux and quad on the back glassing a likely looking slip.
Before I said anything the dragon said, just keep driving.
I wish I stopped for a yarn.

I wish I could, if I found some work,I'd be back in a flash! I've travelled a good chunk of the world and there's nowhere like nz! Glad to see some kiwis have been up my way!!
Ireland's the closest place I've seen to NZ. Travelled the Ring of Kerry from Dublin 2006 and my son did some of his overseas medical experience in Cork. Enjoy the forum, you'll see some great photos on NZ here.
