I'd say find an action that you like and feel safe and familiar with.
Also one that you can bed easily (makes it more accurate).
Also that you can adjust the trigger or replace upgrade at a latter date.
Caliber wise 708 minimum I would stay clear of anything lighter until you have some more experience.

Now that I've posted this watch out for the bites they won't be to long in coming
