Ok rifles himmmm
I'd say find an action that you like and feel safe and familiar with.
Also one that you can bed easily (makes it more accurate).
Also that you can adjust the trigger or replace upgrade at a latter date.
Caliber wise 708 minimum I would stay clear of anything lighter until you have some more experience.

Now that I've posted this watch out for the bites they won't be to long in coming

As for rifle cal anything but a .270 and as long as its a Tikk and you will be fine.

I think thats the problem i have, there's so many different calibers. I feel confident with the 7mm08 a Tikka would be nice, I'll just have to keep my eyes out for something.
I have a bit more to learn, bedding a rifle? I can bed my wife easily but a rifle... Might need to research a little on breaking in and bedding a new rifle i think.

One reason i was looking at the savage weather warrior was the accutrigger and accustock it came with.
I can always adapt and experiment with other rounds and rifles later on. I don't think I've read on here once that someone had too many firearms... Haha.

Now I'm over 5 posts i think i can post pictures now. This was the young one i took over Easter, No beast but its my trophy, I even saved the shell case as a momento. I'll never forget that experience and managing to do it all by myself. I did forget to take a camera with me so the only photo's i got was when we were home.

You will find that a Tikka won't need to be beded neither of mine are, and a second hand one in what ever cal will see you right.
Just as important or even more important is a good quality scope.
