Im Logan
Hello. Ive been lurking for a while now, thought it was about time to sign up though it helped one of your members is selling two M1 carbine knock offs and I wanted a slice of that...
This forum helped me purchase my first rifle. I commute everyday on a beautiful sportbike and some bugger on the motorway decided he wanted to be in my lane more than I did, and knocked me off. So I got a nice chunk of change from his insurance company and new it was time to get a rifle normally outside of my price range. I spent some time researching what I wanted, and after a lot of reading realized to start with caliber.
I want to stuff my face with venison so it had to be a round good for deer, but I'm not the biggest joker around so recoil matters. I chose the 7mm-08 Steyr scout.

My shooting club has a rimfire competition that looked real fun and so hey presto my second rifle. I literally bought the cheapest one I could find on that NZ trading website that shall remain anonymous. Its a matching numbers(including the illusive 5round magazine) TOZ 17. It shoots rather well once you tighten up the scope rings....
2nd Picture here?
I'm also surprisingly tech illiterate despite being a millennial. I tried to add photos, but no luck. I could say more but I'm no doubt just rambling at this point.
Thanks four your time, and the help you have already provided me.

Welcome Logan. Nice choice with the Steyr. They are not everyone’s cup of tea but I like them. To post pictures you use the third icon from the right.

Howdy Logan. Great forum and I havnt been around it long. Don't know about the Steyr but have a couple of those Toz and I love them, real tack drivers. Fyi a Mossberg Plinker 10rd mag can be made to friction fit with just a little work with fine grade emery paper. Close the bolt, insert the loaded mag firmly and it will cycle all 10 rds perfectly. It won't drop out either. Enjoy the forum..
