    Intro

Hey everyone! My name is Gus and I'm from Wyoming up here in the States. Like most other people I have been creeping around on this forum for awhile now. Finally, decided to become a member. I am an avid hunter up here trying to hunt as much as I can. In the fall I hunt antelope, mule deer, and elk; with the winter months and late spring I try to call in as many coyotes as possible. Hopefully one day I will draw the coveted moose and bighorn tag! When I'm not hunting I enjoy going down to Colorado and hiking up their mountains, which we call 14ers. As of date I have 13 of their 52 14ers done.

I am looking to try and make it over to New Zealand in the next couple of years to do some hunting. I have read over many hunting locations on the DOC website and I am trying to soak up as much information as I can about New Zealand hunting before I make it over there.

Thanks to all that read this and I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone!

Welcome to the forum. It is a stunning part of the world that you live in. My wife and I spent some time there twenty years ago.

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately, where I live in Cheyenne, is a ways from the mountains. Most of the landscape is rolling hills with very few trees and absolutely no mountains. Which makes packing out an elk or deer a lot easier when you don't have to go up and down a mountain lol!

57jl, I picked up a Savage Model 10 Creedmoor 6.5 last summer. That's all I've been shooting with for the last 9 months pretty much. The 129 grain SST from Hornady does a great job dropping everything I've hunted so far; rams, antelope, deer, and elk.
