    The names Wayne
I have been hunting most of my life , my late farther was a deer culler /possum hunter from 1947 to 1987 when he retired . As a result of this i spent a lot of time in the bush. I shot my first deer at the age of 13 with a 22 magnum. And used this till i was 16 then i graduated to the 303. Which i used till i bought my first centerfire which was a rem 788 222. A few years later on i obtained the first of my 280's from then on i have been using a 280, 260, 300win mag ,300wsm, 223 and currently am using a 7mm-08. I tend to like the slightly different cals the ones are a bit different ie 280 /260 although these are becoming more popular than when i had them. I am slowly getting doing a bit more long range. and building my first semi custom rifle .
    I live in Marlborough

    Welcome Wayno.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Hey. Geez your life sounds eerily like mine

My dad was a culler/possumer. Stopped doing that when he made enough to buy a farm.
I grew up in the bush, used to run trap lines and cull goats as a toddler in dads backpack.
Trapped possums while I was a kid to make pocket money.
Shot my first deer age 9 with a 22 magnum, while checking my possum line.
Got given a shot-out 303, then saved enough to buy a 243 at age 15.
Had normal calibres - 308/270/3006, then went to magnums, and now a .280 is my everyday carry (my 280 is the gun I have owned the longest out of all of them)
And I've been into longer range stuff for a couple of years now and it's a tad addictive.

    Hardcase.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
