    Intro

    Hi Everyone
Finally getting around to doing an intro. My names Ben, fairly new to hunting, background in hiking and packrafting, really enjoying incorporating both of those into hunting. Have packrafted the Ngaruroro twice, clarence once, based in wellington have paddled all the main tararua rivers, rangitikei a few times. Packraft is really handy getting access without a helicopter. started out with a trusty 308, lost my mind as a rookie and also bought a 6.5 prc, plenty to learn including keeping my wallet shut Missed out on a trip to stewart island this year due to covid but will be going may next year fingers crossed nothing gets in the way this time around.
great to see how active the forum is, wealth of knowledge on these pages.
    Cheers

Welcome anyway . . . . anyone brave enough to go in a packraft is OK by me - you have enough crosses to bear being from the windy city, I wouldn't let a little thing like a name bug me!!

Welcome and you’ll enjoy Stewart Island when you get there - the hills aren’t steep.

Cheers guys! Looking forward to all of the above. Will be getting out during summer to scout some spots become familiar with the local terrain. Amazing what you come across once you step off the track (other than supplejack, leatherwood, ongaonga, spaniard etc etc hahaha).
