    introduction

    Good morning all,

I am new to the hunting community but have fallen in love with the sport after shooting my first deer and am enjoying learning all I can from those around me and picking up new tips from all those I talk to. I have recently applied for my firearms license so that I can continue with the sport and learn how to hunt so that when I have a family of my own I can teach my kids that you dont need to go to the supermarket to get your meat, you can go out and get it yourself. I have joined my local deer stalkers group to try obtain some of the knowledge of other hunters and learn as much as I can. Always looking for more tips and tricks and always down for a chat on gear and butchering tips. Im located in the Wanganui area and look forward to hunting the surrounding DOC land and hopefully private land should I make the right connections.

Thank you for the add to the forum.

Welcome Blake. It is a great part of the country for hunting that you live in.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Kia ora Blake. I'm pretty new to it all myself, and have asked an endless list of questions. I don't pretend to know much but happy to natter about anything I have learnt. Great to hear you're out there doing it with the kids as well. New family traditions.
