    Kia ora from Hastings!

Kia ora everyone. Joined the forum in May but have just worked out how to get in and make a post haha. Anyway looks like a great place to learn and connect with others. Based in Hastings but do most of my hunting on the Whanganui river. Usually take my kids/grandkids and if we're lucky get some kai for the table, but just happy to be out in the bush.
    Cyclops and sometimes1 like this.

    Greetings Paap,
I think you will find the local Sika just as tasty as the Whanganui fallow. Welcome to Hawkes Bay anyway.
Regards Grandpamac. (Hawkes Bay born and bred).

    Welcome.

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Hey mimms2. Yip sure is an "h in Whanganui, it's just not pronounced in the local dialect so sounds like there's no "h". I see you're based in Taitokerau. Whats the hunting like up those ways? Hoping to head up to Kaikohe later this year (Covid pending haha)

Hey 40mm. Paap is short for Paapaa which means Dad in Māori. My kids called me that when they were little and still do now haha. First thing that came to mind for a username.

Hey Jett101. In Hastings too! I head over to Whanganui every now and then. Flick me a pm (do we do pm's on here?) if you to want tag along, or head out here somewhere.

Have definitely heard the "h" pronounced in many other dialects, ergo the word haka. Anyway not here for debate on spelling and phonetics, am here for the info around learning more about hunting though. So thanks for the info about hunting options in Taitokerau :-)
