No, you actually made a very common confusion as the difference between the verbs laying and lying is easily made due to the similarities in the meanings.
So if something or someone is already in a reclining position, you say "I am lying on the hammock or bed".
However if you are laying, you are setting something or someone down gently or carefully, allowing it to assume a resting place on a surface eg "I am laying the foam mat on the hammock" or "I am laying the child in the hammock".
So for you Ryan you get a C+ .... for at least trying![]()
