    May aswell

    Hi All,

I recently made an account after stumbling across this forum. Thought I better introduce myself after a making a few comments and posts throughout the forum.

I am a new hunter, only been out once about two weeks ago. With two other good friends of mine and it was a blast. I am keen to shoot deer, but am open for most things. I always wanted to go out hunting as a teenager but we never had an opportunity. Im keen to learn as much as I can and hopefully gain so more knowledge and gain alot of confidence going out hunting and bush so that I can take my son out when he is old. Hes only just a baby haha.

I live just out Palmerston North, I havent grown up here so im not familiar with the area. So me and my mates would love some pointers of places to go.

My father gave me his No1 mk3 Lithgow 303-25 and a 45-70 Siamese mauser. Also recently picked up a Parker hale 303. I know these arent common calibres anymore but im keen to keep them alive. Aswell as a bunch of reloading gear, my father dabbled in making his own 45/70 projectiles.

The great calibre of people I have spoken to so far has been super Welcome. Hope to learn some get info from here!

    Welcome aboard.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded

Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely

Welcome mate, there are still plenty of .303 users on here. Contribute here and there in whatever areas you have interests. Check through all the forum sub groups and you are bound to find some posts and threads to join in the conversation. Got to start off somewhere mate!
