The first forums I joined were American ones in late 2008.

I decided as I was a Kiwi & my first name is Greg, that's what I would use.

I choose to use the same name on all the forums I post on for transparency.

I have noticed a lot of participates don't......

There is a wealth of good info on the forums, I have learnt a heap from them & have especially enjoyed the Steel shoots I have been to in both Islands, shame they don't happen as much now

Not to mention all the good buggers I have met over the years

I know for me, that my username name on the other forum harks back long before I joined it and to people and times before @Toby was even born.
So with a fresh forum I chose a fresh name

Transparency on the internet isn't always a good thing, and I totally support anybody who wants to remain as opaque as possible. Can post a heap of horror stories about people who were "transparent" on the internet if you like

On topic - it's my name, etc. Not that often that I join a forum right as it's being made, so I figured I should take it while it was available

It seems at times eg 8 months of the year that I live up to my username very well, the sandflies here are the four engine variety and hungry I'm yet to get to Fiordland so I see it as a type of sensitivity training cheers Blair.

Was on a job in Africa and by boss said I was going a bit feral... long hair, butchering animals for food, partying hard... Thought F*ck yeah, that's me to a tee!

    fe·ral (fîrl, fr-)
    adj.
    1.
    a. Existing in a wild or untamed state.
    b. Having returned to an untamed state from domestication.
    2. Of or suggestive of a wild animal; savage: a feral grin.
[From Latin fera, wild animal, from ferus, wild; see ghwer- in Indo-European roots.]
