    New Aussie to the forum

    G'day, my name is Chris.
I am on a couple of other forums but now thinking I specifically want to learn about New Zealand and look into hunting there at least once.
I have hunted Africa once and I enjoy rifles, hunting and shooting pests.
About all I can say but I will be on some other posts shortly.

    Greetings Chris,
Welcome, have a look around and ask questions. NZ is a hard place to hunt without local knowledge so if you come over a guided hunt would be worth considering. Others may have suggestions on this. Our terrain is quite unlike most of OZ and Africa for that matter, often steep with some gnarly rivers so you could be in for a bit of a shock.
    Regards Grandpamac.

Is there a phone friendly app for this site?
It's quite difficult to see on my phone.
Like I have to zoom in and scroll back and forth across the page.

G'day Chris. Are you on the Australianhunting forum? There seems to be a lot of discussion there about hunting in NZ from the Aussie perspective. Certainly it's very different from inland NSW.

    No, I'm not.
I spend way too long on the forums but I thought this one might be the best insight into NZ

Welcome CBH.. loads of great info here. You won't be coming over soon, but when you do make contact with someone on here because as others have said.. not as easy as it looks. (on youtube)

    Thanks,
I'm hoping to learn from a few here.
I was of the understanding that NZ is easy going.
Not sure of the whole plan but hoping we can get a cpervan and sightsee and get on a hunt in one or 2 pre planned location s.
I'm not looking for trophies so not fussy about what I hunt, I'm just wanting to bring a rifle and experience hunting NZ.

that right there is PERFECT attitude...go for walk to check out the country, any animal is a bonus and the trip is a success BEFORE you start.
welcome aboard.......we have plenty of Aussie overstayers here that are easy to find to shoot....strangely enough a few years back folks were exporting wallabies back to Oz from here LOL.
