    Welcome!
It's early spring here, but we don't have a big game season in NZ, you can hunt all year round.
Gamebirds do have a season, late autumn (May/June).
I had a mate who lived out of Calgary who bow and rifle hunted, I went on one hunt with him but didn't see anything. One day he was out hunting and his wife filmed a moose walking past the house!

WE don't have year round hunting either,
Canada does have a wide verity of game to hunt Polar bear / grizzle Bear / black bear / sheep / Elk / Caribou / Moose / Deer / Mule deer / antelope / wild boar / Wolf / Coyotes / Fox / just to name a few
Guess a bunch of birds too , so no shortage of opportunities if one wants to hunt.

Welcome. NZ has elk which we call Wapiti and whitetail both of which are very localised. The most widespread deer species are Red Deer and Fallow Deer. You can deer hunt anytime you feel the urge without having to buy tags like you do.
