    New Here, From USA

New to this website. Had been a Forum member on fishnhunt for quite some time but I see a few years back it shut down. Did a first period Mt Longsight ballot for Wapiti back in 2015 but that was my only experience hunting NZ. Contemplating around trip at some point.

Anyways, I live in the state of Colorado in the USA. I am an avid Whitetail and Elk hunter. Archery only. Discussions with a fellow last night on an Archery forum who grew up in NZ triggered my interest is seeing what's going in the hunting and fishing world of NZ these days. Sad to see previous Forum was not around but looking forward to what this one has to offer. Cheers!

    Welcome to the forum.
Plenty of folks from the other pub joined up here when it shut down.

Always keen on hunting yarns posted up by our usa members. Interesting stuff

I know I won't hear much about the Whitetails of Stewart Island, but I do enjoy about reading about the hunts for Reds. Not an animal we have here. Elk are fairly similar in many ways, but they are definitely different. Life has been busy and haven't had the time to chase Elk is a few years. That will change that next season and historically for me has been the go-to hunt of choice. Spent a good 20 days of the last 2 months chasing Whitetail deer. Such an addictive hunt.

Welcome to the forum. If you’re planning a NZ hunt let me know and I’ll try to help out.

I’m planning a trip to Colorado next year. Thought about bow hunting elk but more likely 3rd season for mule deer and maybe elk too.
