Hi All,
Where to start...… Back in 1972 with the Army started hunting around Waiouru and Ohakune and the national park and forestry, then Arthurs pass, Fiordland (southern part) the a huge hiatus. Wife and family and all that. Then a move to Oz where I am now. I see all shades of brown and plenty of black. Beginning of Dec got hit by fire hence the black. Got back in in a big way. I own some lovely (to me anyway) Marlin Lever Actions. Now also bow hunting. Although we have some good game here in oz the hunting in Qld is very restrictive.
Coming back to NZ for 3 months in a couple of weeks to look after me mum. I have a pass for a few days so Ruahines here I come. Then to Mosgiel for 3 weeks and a couple of areas there I am interested in, up to Blenheim for three weeks and finally back to Palmy. Final go at the Ruahines.
This time only bringing the bow but next time could be the rifles. Have not had a decent bush hunt for many a year so looking forward to the trip. Had three weeks 38+ degrees heading to 40 + so will enjoy some cooler weather and some rain. Nothing like a big Stag roaring to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
Good site to get the heads up on what is happening back home.
Cheers
Hunter
