I had the dubious honor being the first to roll the M113 at Arthurs Pass. Around 300m down hill, end over end and side roll to boot. My driver and I survived. Rock in the drive sprocket. Talk about throwing a track.
Beside someone had to play taxis to get you where you needed to be.
Was great. I was allowed my 94 lever with me and went out for a shot after we parked up. First time out, deer in the sights, round up the spout and click. Talk about disappointed. Brand new Winchester and a broken firing pin.
The weather is a bit of a concern. Will bring my ridgeline gear. Most of my other stuff is cotton for summer her in OZ. I'm taking the pack (Carry on) with optics, range finder, spot etc with hunting clothes as packing. Knives, Jetboil in suit case. Bow case with all I can fit in it. Just leave suit case and wife's carry on bag for personal gear for 3 months. Will wear boots as the take up a lot of room and are heavy being leather calf type hunting boots. (can't get away from them after 44 years.)
Anyway Thanks for the welcome.
