Hi guys looks like i finally found a decent New Zealand firearms forum.
Im a newbie hunter from north Waikato just feeling things out and collecting some gear at this stage, have been out for a few shoots with a mate but haven't brought home anything for the freezer yet looking forward to duckshooting tho.

welcome to the place where youre not always sure what youre reading ,but.............our hearts are in the right place and we all pee into the collective fountain of wisdom.
seriously greetings -hope you enjoy it ,and heres to lookin at the first fat duck that tumbles to your gun!
you do realise of course duckshooting is a terminal illness, driving the afflicted to make strange sounds with bits of wood&plastic ,speaking a dialect a kalahari bushman would scratch his head over ,and leaping fromnice warm fartsacks &partners in early winter mornings to go freeze nuts off in a cold bloody maimai.
would i trade it -the hell I would!

Thanks for the welcome theres allot of useful information about biggest problem is not heading down to the local hunting shop and blowing my wages each week although im sure the kids will be fine on a baked bean diet. Kotuku I was having the exact same convo with my duck shooting mad mate the other day guess il find out this weekend hopefully come home with some with lots for the freezer.

So still un ducked getting closer with some deer tho almost fell on the buggers the other day but wasn't too keen to take a running shot through trees with my mate someware on the hill behind. We know where they are keeping themselves now so maybe next time.
