    Newbie

    Hi

Names Grant and I'm from Central QLD originally Southern NSW.

Love getting back down that way to do some deer hunting and chasing hogs with the dogs.

Now days I mainly fish up this way and occasionally set a dingo trap.

Do most of my shooting with a 7mm-08 and am hoping to get some info off a few members as I see its a popular round in NZ

    Cheers

    Thanks fellas.

Probably won't find me talking about the wallabies on here to much Gibo.

I get enough grief from the Kiwis at work haha.

Hi Stingray I do mate but have to wait for the 5 posts before I can upload pics.

I hunt with crossbreds. I still have a couple at home here which are related (cattledog cross mastiff/pitbull) but both dogs are totally different style.

My old dog is around 35kg whilst my younger dog is 25kg and a lot leaner.

Where I used to hunt pigs was mostly public land pine blocks with a bit of native scrub and blackberry patches hard work but rewarding when the dogs nabbed a decent hog.

The first 3 dogs on the left are all from the same line a mate breeds. I still have the 2 dogs on the left, the white coloured fella got taken by a snake a few years back and the wolfhound sitting down was a bit of a lazy worker and to big for my style of hunting so was given to a mate.

This Fella was probably my best hog from the mountains. Dressed out at 90kg and was still very young.

Not the best pic but a good one I got with a mate off a property I used to live on. Never weighed him but at a guess maybe 120kg live weight. Had a massive blunt hook on one side because his grinder had rotted out and no ears. Was an interesting few minutes trying to get a few young pups to grab him.

They are some solid pigs. The second photo was bloody fantastic ... You looked shattered , nothing better than a bloody hell we got the bugger photo..

Great photos of your hounds ...nothing better than a crew of mixed bred hungry hounds. Love the humble pig dog. Worth their weight in gold when your chasing wild pork!!
