Thread: Newbie Introduction

Hi all

Long time viewer, first time contributor

Originally from Taranaki, now Auckland based
I wasted my time at Uni playing rugby and drinking whilst my flat mates where hunting regularly, I have realized the folly of my ways.
After a few years overseas and getting knee-deep into Ducks, I have branched out and developed a passion for large game, specifically Deer.
I have been lucky to have some amazing encounters in heavy bush and open tops, recent trips have included Kaimai’s, Mamaku’s and a trip to the Umbrella Range in Otago on private land.
Still a virgin and a relative newbie I am patiently waiting for my first Deer and currently planning a Kaimanawa saunter.
Like many of you work and family commitments dictate my ability to get in the hills so I am living vicariously through posts on here, scouring satellite images and watching videos on Youtube to scratch-the-itch (it never goes away).

To all previous contributors; your chat is top notch, hopefully; in time, I can contribute with some excellently vague sage advise
